The Creative Myth, 1986

Central to the dominant culture’s mythology for both artists and artworks are individualistic originality, the artist’s anarchistic behaviour and inspirational insights, and the artwork’s unique hand-crafted nature. This mythology as shown in countless historical examples, glorifies the artist’s inner psychological struggles, as representing some higher magical state from which some culturally significant icons will appear.
